Our Partnership Course is for everyone who wants to call Ribble Valley Church their home church. If you are new or have been coming for a while but haven’t done the partnership, we want to encourage you to be a part of this course.
It provides an introduction to the values, theology and vision of Ribble Valley Church and seeks to explain our philosophy of ministry and how you as partners of Ribble Valley Church can not only support, pray for and partner with us in the call of God for us as a church but also be influencers, with opportunity to develop and explore gifts and ministries in the local church setting.
VENUE: Starbucks, Capitol Centre, Capitol Way, PR5 4AW – MAP
TIME: 7:30PM-9:00PM
Our first Leadership Vision Night of the Autumn term is coming up, and we’re moving venues to Starbucks on the Capitol Centre in Walton-le-Dale! If you’re a leader in the church, in a connect group, a volunteer or just want to know more about what’s going on in the life of Ribble Valley Church, then this is the place to be.
Pastor Ed will be speaking into the heart and vision of the church, unpacking information about Church on Tour and the rest of this term, as well as bringing inspirational teaching.
LVN kicks off at 7:30pm, but get there earlier to grab a drink and a comfy seat!
As we get closer to an action packed couple of months, we are expecting God to do some amazing things in and through us with Heart for the House, Church on Tour, Just10 and Valley Champions!
That’s why, on the 14th and 21st September, we encourage you to join with us and spend a day fasting and praying for the exciting term ahead. Whether that means skipping one meal or an entire day’s worth is entirely up to you, but if it is possible for you to take part then please do!
VENUE: Walton-le-Dale Arts College & High School, Brindle Rd, Preston, PR5 6RN – MAP
TIME: 10:30AM & 6:00PM Sunday, 26th Sept
We will always be a church with more vision than money! And that’s not a statement of complaint. Our people have always given over and above, with generous hearts and we say thank you.
What we mean is that, no matter how much resource comes in, there are always more people who need to experience the love of Jesus in practical ways.
So, once a year, we hold our Heart For The House offering, where we encourage people to give over and above their regular tithes and offerings to a fund that goes towards more than the day to day running of the church. Money raised in Heart For The House goes towards big initiatives and things that we wouldn’t otherwise be able to afford. Things like paying for more staff time, running big projects and investing in other things that help raise our profile as a church and therefore help connect more and more people with Jesus.
One of the things last years’ offering paid for was the Five Hot Weekends series. The whole thing was a huge success, with many people finding Christ and our church grew significantly through it. With Church on Tour coming up, once again we ask that you would be praying and seeking God about this next opportunity to invest in a big way into the Kingdom of God. We are believing that more people would come to find Christ, that more and more people would find a home in the family of God and would find answers in Jesus. We are investing as a church in advertising, venue hire, special guests and multimedia for the project among other things.
So, as we continue as a church into the future God has for us, we pray that you are able to give sacrificially and from a heart of generosity.
You can pledge and give in all the normal ways we receive our regular tithes and offerings, on Sundays in our services.
VENUE: Various Locations in Blackburn, Chorley and Leyland
TIME: 10:30am, 6pm Sundays
With Autumn fast approaching, so is Church on Tour. Church on Tour was birthed out of a desire to achieve three objectives -
1) To prevent ‘comfortable Christianity’ in our church.
2) To break out into other towns and make disciples there.
3) To help people grasp that we are not a church just for Bamber Bridge but for this region.
So, in October and November, the whole of Ribble Valley Church is uprooting from Bamber Bridge and we are taking our Sunday services on the road to Blackburn, Chorley and Leyland. Stay tuned for dates, times and locations which will all be announced throughout August in church.
WE NEED YOU!
In order to make this a success, we need as many people as possible to get involved and help out. As well as our regular volunteers who make up our amazing teams for the services, we need people to help with leaflet distribution, with extra hosting for the venues and with the Just10 courses which are running alongside the Tour. You can sign up in the foyer at church or email us at general@ribblevalleychurch.net for more information.
VENUE: Various Locations in Blackburn, Chorley and Leyland
TIME: 7.30pm, various nights of the week
In September, October and November of 2010, along side Church on Tour, we will be hosting three Just10 Courses, one in Blackburn, one in Chorley and one in Leyland.
Each course takes one night a week for 10 weeks and is based around J. John’s insights into the 10 Commandments and how the eternal principles of God’s Word applies and are relevant to us today. Find out more about the course here.
You can sign up for free to any of the courses by either signing up in the foyer or by emailing us at general@ribblevalleychurch.net
The courses are open to all ages and although we ask people to sign up so we can prepare effectively, you can also simply just turn up on the night. If you can’t make a particular session in your town, you can just visit another town for the same session that week.
All courses start in the week beginning the 20th September at 7.30pm and occur on the following nights -
Blackburn – Mondays, Blackburn Central Library
Chorley – Wednesdays, Costa Coffee
Leyland – Thursdays, FX Leisure Center
You can contact us for more information, and you can now check out the information board in the foyer at church on Sunday, where you can sign up for the courses, volunteer for leaflet distribution and find out more information about the venues.
